What is Skillbuilding?

Skillbuilding is an activity all Amazi can participate in, it allows your Amazi to learn skills that can help them during events, boss battles, brawls and even activities! Skills are necessary for your Amazi to be eligible to breed as well as rise in rank the higher they get. However, there is a limit to how many skills an Amazi can learn.

An Amazi can learn a total of:

  • 2 Physical Skills

  • 3 Spiritual Skills

  • 1  Nguvu Skill

Types of Skillsets:

There are 4 types of skillsets, however most Amazi can only access 3. The 4 skillsets are: Physical, Spiritual, Nguvu and Special, but the main sets are: Physical, Spiritual and Master.

Physical skills are skills any Amazi can learn, they are considered essential skills to survive and are performed with the Amazi’s sole strength and capabilities.

Spiritual skills are skills only Amazi aligned with a god may learn, this is due to the god’s sharing their power with the Amazi to perform wonders they may have not been able to do before.

Nguvu skills are open only to Amazi who have reached Master rank and have received their Master class. They are highly powerful skills that are a reward for the Amazi’s personal perseverance.

Special skills are exclusive to Amazi with disabilities, they are essential skills necessary to learn if the Amazi wants to survive and can be learned by Amazi only with that disability.

How to Skillbuild?

To skillbuild, a player must complete a piece that fulfills the requirements listed below, according to what you choose to do.

Visual Art Requirements:

  • Minimum: 75% of the Amazi showing; colored and shaded

  • Must have a semi-complex background

  • Must meet the skill’s prompt in some shape or form

Literature Requirements:

  • Minimum: 1,000 words

  • Must meet the skill’s prompt in some shape or form

Once done, head on over to the Othere Shrine and submit the piece with the proper form to the right comment chain. Don’t forget to submit the piece to the correct folder within the group gallery!

Physical:

Blind: If an enemy cannot see, they cannot attack. Blinding an enemy is an essential skill that can range from throwing dust into their eyes to aiming a small blow to spitting into their eye.

Temporarily blinds the enemy for one turn, preventing them from doing damage while you do damage in return.

Prompt: Show your Amazi learning how to blind, whether it’s using a tree or their siblings or even their parent. Do they prefer something passive like throwing dust or do they prefer a much more ‘hand-on’ approach?

______________

Slash: The gods gave Amazi claws for a reason, now it’s time to use them! It is an important basic skill that can protect you from opponents or help you take down prey; it can range from a small wound to a large gash depending on your strike.

Makes the enemy prone to taking greater damage throughout one turn.

Prompt: Show your Amazi learning how to use their claws, do they sharpen or scratch at a stump, maybe an old toy? Or do they learn while hunting for the first time or maybe during a fight with a sibling?

______________

Roar: Amazi have big powerful lungs that are useful besides flying, prove that you have the spirit of a warrior resting within you and let it out! A big powerful roar is enough to scare the living spirit out of anyone or intimidate even the biggest of foes.

Your foe’s attack lowers by -2 for one turn and their chance of attack landing lowers.

Prompt: Depict your Amazi trying to master their warrior’s roar. Does it come out more like a mew? Maybe like a howl? Or do they blow their expectations out of the water? Maybe they practiced with someone or did they do it by themselves?

Spiritual:

Kalakka:

Spirit’s Spite: The God of Life provides many bounties for aligning yourself to him, but all at a cost. With this your Amazi is able to summon a spirit granted to them by Life to take the damage meant for your Amazi and return it back to their attacker.

Your Amazi summons a spirit that mirrors the boss’s damage output for one turn at the cost of ¼  of the Amazi’s HP.

Prompt: During your aligning with Kalakka, you proved you can summon a spirit, but can you do it again? Depict your Amazi summoning the spirit or using the spirit. Does the spirit choose to help you willingly or perhaps your Amazi convinces them to? Or is it by force in calling the god’s power to control the spirit?

______________

Still Alive: Even at your weakest point, the god will provide you with their energy. When fainted, your Amazi’s form with begin to glow as Kalakka’s energy begins to awaken them once more to fight, however the catch is the god’s energy is only enough to bring you back.

Your Amazi can revive itself once for the rest of the battle if fainted during a boss interaction or event but at half the HP and half the stats.

Prompt: Show your Amazi using Still Alive or fainted with traces of Still Alive around them, perhaps their reaction to it? When was the moment that your Amazi asked for help from Kalakka? Were they stuck in the battle of their life or had they gotten mortally wounded?

______________

Rejuvenation: Life isn’t without its trials, and life isn’t without its pains. The god of Life certainly seems to partake in the suffering of others and almost seems to enjoy it, otherwise why would grant you more energy for severely harming a foe?

Your Amazi restores ½ of its HP if it lands a critical hit on their opponent.

Prompt: Depict your Amazi using Rejuvenation or how they learned it.  How did your Amazi learn that Kalakka would grant them more energy if they landed a major blow? How did they react? Were they disgusted or were they thankful? When did they learn the dark side of the god?

______________

Ignite Soul: Battles are so rarely fought with allies, but wars commonly are. Allies are helpful when one is overwhelmed and even better if they are strong. Your Amazi knows this and have the ability to ignite the fire inside one’s soul to better help them.

Your Amazi can choose an ally and increase one category their stats by ¼ th for one turn.

Prompt: Show your Amazi fighting alongside another Amazi with Ignite Soul or learning how to use Ignite Soul. How did your Amazi learn to ignite their allies? When did they first find out? Maybe it happened in the heat of battle or maybe it was when a sibling was hurt?

Turumbino:

Dead Bite: Those favored by Turumbino are the ones to be feared, never let your guard down even when they faint for the goddess’s power allows them to attack. Like the dead, their eyes are shut and they are still, but once they call on the goddess’s power and surround themselves with her aura, they are alive once more.

Your Amazi can attack the enemy again once when fainted.

Prompt: Depict your Amazi attacking using Dead Bite or learning Dead Bite. How did your Amazi react when given the second chance? Did they even call for help or did the goddess lend her energy knowingly? Did they learn it on their own or did the goddess summon them in a vision?

______________

Spirit Runner: Just like Kalakka, Turumbino requires her followers to be able to control spirits. Your Amazi is able to summon a spirit to take the enemy damage meant for them but at a cost, even with the kind goddess, there is a price.

Your Amazi summons a spirit that takes the enemy damage inflicted for one turn at the cost of ¼  of its HP.

Prompt: Depict your Amazi summoning the spirit or using the spirit. Does the spirit choose to help you willingly or perhaps your Amazi convinces them to? Or is it by force in calling the goddess’s power to control the spirit?

______________

Drain: Victory sometimes means coming at the cost of another, and sometimes it is better to prevent an enemy from fighting in the first place from even fighting that battle at all. The goddess is with you, granting you the ability to drain the life energy of another Amazi, allowing you longer time to participate in a fight.

Your Amazi drains some of its opponent’s life force, restoring ½ of the damage done.

Prompt:Show your Amazi learning how to drain the energy of a living being. Does it take them a while to master it or do they learn it easily on the fly? Or perhaps their emotions got the better of them, affecting how much energy they drained?

______________

Extinguish Soul:  Any form of advantage is a good advantage, especially when there are many enemies. Any advantage no matter how small could mean the difference between victory or loss. Due to your alignment with Turumbino, you are able to soothe and appease the soul of an enemy, lessening their fighting spirit.

Your Amazi can choose an opponent and decrease one of their stats by ½  for one turn.i>

Prompt: Show your Amazi fighting against another Amazi with Extinguish Soul or learning how to use Extinguish Soul. How did your Amazi first pick up the skill? When did they first find out? Maybe it happened in the heat of battle or maybe it was when a sibling was hurt?

Viernol:

Transcendence: The wind’s blood runs in your veins thanks to your alignment with Viernol, father of the wild wilds. Due to this, it allows you to create strong gusts or gentle currents with a flick of a paw or a flap of a wing. The energy within you, you allow the wind to increase your speed when flying, becoming as fast as a diving falcon.

Raises your Amazi’s chances to dodge enemy attack and to land an attack.

Prompt: Depict your Amazi learning how to master control of the wind. Was it an easy feat for them or did it end up being difficult? If it was hard for them, did they end up hurt? Did their skill backfire?

______________

Tornado Wings: The wind can be as fearsome as the god’s anger if properly wielded, you yourself have the ability to wield the winds. You are able to form strong tornadoes and whirlwinds with a strong blast from your wings, making your enemy highly vulnerable. And if you were feeling spiteful...perhaps taking their wings away is possible.

Has a 25% to double the damage of an attack each turn.

Prompt: Mastery for this particularly skill is tricky, one wrong move and one’s wings can end up severely damaged. Show your Amazi trying to master or learn this skill. Did they have supervision from the god himself or perhaps a parent? What was the end result?

______________

Compass Brain: Birds are a creation of Viernol, hence why his followers often have one of the capabilities that a bird has and that is being sensitive to the magnetic poles. This sensitivity allows them to know where they are and never lets them be lost, even in the harshest of blizzards.

Lets your Amazi bring back one more item when doing an exploring activity.

Prompt: Depict your Amazi learning about this skill or their reaction to it. When did your Amazi first find about this skill of theirs? Was it immediately after they aligned themselves with Viernol or was it a while before they began to feel it?

______________

Wind Dancer: Wind is not all fierce storms but can be a soft lull, useful for fallen leaves or perhaps even fallen Amazi. Ribbons are often tied to an Amazi’s tail or wrists when they are first learning to control the wind passively to detect the minor changes in direction. Wingless Amazi are watched over carefully by another.

Grants your Amazi a boost +5 boost of Intelligence and +5 Speed

Prompt: Depict your Amazi learning how to improve their mobility and overall learning how to use their control of the wind passively. Were they embarrassed of the ribbons they had to wear to see the wind’s direction or could they feel the shift with their feathers? Or perhaps if they were a wingless Amazi, how did they react to their first flight using wind?

Pelili:

Fish Breath: It should come as no surprise that aligning yourself with the goddess of water comes with the perks of breathing underwater. This is due to the goddess’s energy that flows through your lungs, allowing you to inhale and exhale the water and extract the oxygen, however that doesn’t spare you the nickname of ‘fish breath’.

Lets your Amazi bring back one more item when doing a diving activity

Prompt:Depict when your Amazi first discover this skill bestowed upon them. Was it during a diving session or was there another darker reason why they were underwater? Perhaps Pelili had sent a messenger to them?

______________

Hydromancy: The ability to control water is a useful one. It can be used for good, such as helping to water crops or control flooding. However it can also be used for dangerous purposes as well...if you wanted to get rid of someone that is or to quickly start a war. Blood is said to be thicker than water afterall.

50% chance to neutralize a Boss’s abilities during interactions and events.

Prompt: Depict your Amazi mastering or learning how to control water. Did they quickly pick up on it or did they have difficulty? Were they ambitious and try to control a large body of water or start off small?

______________

Rain Maker: Storms bring water and with rain comes opportunity. The sound and smell dumbs the senses, the water slows one down. It clings to feathers and fur alike, leaving one like a bedraggled thin rat. High winds within a storm are also another perk. A sudden storm ushered down upon a foe makes for a good getaway or a good set up.

Allows you to decrease to all of an opponent’s stats by ¼ for 2 turns.

Prompt:<\b> Show your Amazi learning how to create rainstorms or when they learned how to. Was it at a young age? Did they find out by accident or was it originally via a prank?

______________

Water Wings: The ability to surround oneself with water, it creates a sort of barrier, making it difficult for foes to reach you without being dragged off by the water first. A soft yet fearsome guardian is surely a wise choice in a battle against sheer brawn. Just make sure you don’t mind getting your fur and feathers wet...and if you don’t mind the sniffles.

Grant your Amazi a boost of +5 to Defense

Prompt: Depict your Amazi surrounding themself with water.

Was the will to save a loved one the trigger to awakening this power? Or did they find out about ut through meditation?

Magawo:

Flame Dancer: The skill required to concentrate all their strength into a single spot, and thus providing strength to your special ones, is called determination. Your Amazi has mastered their flame wielding to a level where they can create a orb of pure fire which hovers around their body, providing support to others.

Allows your Amazi’s soulbound and familiar(s) to attack twice per battle.

Prompt: Depict your Amazi learning how to focus their flames into a ball of pure power.

The loss of something dear to them was the cause for this determination, whether the intention was to protect or to revenge. Or maybe the drive to help a close one, even if it seemed impossible to do provided the focus necessary?

______________

Pyromancy: The ability to wield fire is a blessing and a curse at the same time. Able to provide light and warmth, yet at the same time able to burn and consume.

Wield this ability with a strong will and good intentions and it will allow for feats to be done noone thought possible.

Wield it with carelessness and selfishness, and you will soon know what it means to be thrown into the depths of hell.

Increases your chances of a critical hit and additional attack for 3 turns!

Prompt: Depict your Amazi wielding flames.

Did they uncover this ability in the heat of battle? Was rage the fuel to start this inferno, showing them the power of destruction innate to this ability? Or perhaps they uncovered it by accident trying to cook a humble meal?

______________

Hot Shot: The hunting prowess of Magawo flows through your veins. This power allows you to produce a venom, aiding you on hunts, making you a better hunter. With this ability, your hunting trips are more bountiful than before.

Your Amazi can bring back one more item when doing a hunting activity.

Prompt: Depict your Amazi finding out about their venom.

Did they bite someone without knowing of their venom and faced the consequences? Has Magawo told them about their venom, when appearing in a vision?

Or did they simply drool while sleeping, waking up to a pillow with a hole in it?

______________

Lava Flare: Determination to inflict as much damage as possible allows your Amazi to focus all its energy into claws and fangs, leaving burning wounds with each strike. The heat you release is as hot as lava and causes things to melt around you. As for those who dare to go versus you, let’s hope they don’t mind carrying the scars of their mistakes.

Grants your Amazi an additional +5 to Strength

Prompt: Depict your Amazi using this ability for the first time. Was it a battle where they had to fight for life and death? Did their training pay off, making their trainings dummies suffer searing hot attacks? Or did it happen at random, when they were indoors, and ended up with the need of new furniture?

Anatak:

Photosynthesis: Amazi who have aligned with Anatak have the ability to grow flowers on their own bodies. This process does not hurt, as does cutting those flowers not hurt either. In preparation for brawls, Amazi can use this skill to grow a special kind of flower, called Quinflower. This flower grows according to much damage they have received. Upon receiving too much damage, this flower will fully bloom, releasing healing magic and healing some of the Amazi’s wounds. This skill takes a lot of the Amazis stamina, thus can only be used once in a brawl.

¼ of the Amazi’s HP is restored when they reach ½ within a brawl

Prompt: Show your Amazi growing an Quinflower or how they are healed by it.

Did I training session go wrong, ending in the Amazi being hurt bad enough for the healing to trigger? Or did they enter a serious battle, achieving victory thanks to the Quinflower.

______________

Tree Hugger: The ability to communicate with plants has been given to you due to you aligning yourself with the Earth Mother herself. While one may think it is a redundant skill at first, you may be surprised to find out its usefulness. Plants are terribly notorious for sharing their hiding spots, making you quite adept at gathering them more.

Your Amazi can bring back one more item when doing a gathering activity.

Prompt:Depict your Amazi finding out or utilizing their newfound skill.

Were they shocked at first hearing voices? Do they find plants interesting? Perhaps they use the plants as critics for their future schemes?

______________

Perseverance: Your alignment with Anatak allows you to call upon the strength of the earth, enabling you to strengthen your fur, giving it the durability of solid rock for a short period of time, while at the same time not impairing your mobility. This ability allows Amazi to be the tip of the spear, as well as the rearguard, who excel at protecting others.

Grants your Amazi a +5 Stamina boost and weakens enemy attack by 50% for one turn

Prompt: Show your Amazi using this ability.

Did they step in front of someone else, shielding them from harm with their own body and used this skill to reduce the amount of damage they received? Did they practise having a mental wall comparable to a boulder, unmoving and unwavering? Or did someone simply scare them, making them turn into rock from the scare?

______________

Earthbending: The ability to shake and mold the earth and plant life around you, one of the many great and powerful perks your bond with Anatak has given you. Summon great pillars from the ground or perhaps command vines to lash out against your foes. Perhaps you can’t reach a juicy mango up above and don’t want to fly, then you can summon a vine or the tree to shake it off.

Blocks all minion and familiar attacks during boss interactions and events.

Prompt:Show your Amazi using this ability or learning how to master it.

Did they have someone else to help them? Perhaps even Anatak herself? Does your Amazi use their new skill for good, helping others in need, or would they rather do something...bad with it?

Nguvu:

Canonic Flight: The continuous and skillful usage of you wings strengthened them enough to be no more simple means of transportation, but can now be used as a way of attack. Just like the falcon, you can dive bomb from to sky to strike without warning.

Active: Your Amazi successfully deals double the critical damage if they land a crit to the enemy.

Passive: Your Amazi will bring an additional random item while freelancing.

Prompt: Show your Amazi using this skill against its enemies, or practicing its flight techniques. Did they learn this skill by accident? Was it taught to them by another Amazi? Or maybe they just enjoyed flying too much, and one day came across someone in need of help, and used this skill to fend off an attacker?

______________

Altruistic Defense: A bastion of calm. Never faltering in their determination, your Amazi acquired the mental and physical abilities to withstand even the most violent attacks, even protecting their fellow comrades. For a certain period of time that is. Even this is no easy feat, thus requiring your Amazi a moment to collect itself.

Active: Your Amazi blocks all boss damage directed to its group and neutralizes its abilities, for one turn, but is stunned and takes damage for the duration.

Passive: Protects your Amazi from all injuries and illnesses inflicted by a boss’s minions.

Prompt: Show your Amazi using this skill, or how they acquired it. Did they sit under a waterfall to achieve inner peace and concentration? Did they protect someone against a supremacy of enemies and accidently used this skill?

______________

Turumbino’s Blessing: Devotion and the will to survive. The tendency to preserve life rather than take it. All these are values your Amazi holds dear when it acquired this skill; or at least used to hold dear. They are gifted with the ability to share their wishes and energy to save those close to them.

Active: Allows your Amazi to heal itself and its group for ¾  HP once.

Passive: Immune to injuries within activities.

Prompt: Show your Amazi learning this skill, or how they gained it. Maybe they always liked helping the injured. Did they get into a fight, and were threatened by the death of someone dear to them, and suddenly this skill manifested saving them?

Special:

Blindness: Fate was cruel and took your Amazi’s sight. Plagued with difficulty navigating, and not even able the take in the world’s beauty, they feel lost and alone. It is your turn to be there for them, and show them that not all hope is lost, that there is a way to keep on living, even without the privilege of sight.

Allows your Amazi to participate in activities including events

Prompt: Show how your Amazi learns, or how they are taught, to cope with their blindness. Did they have to learn by themselves, alone, how to get around? Were they found by someone, who helped them adjust to this new way of life?

______________

Deafness: At first it was just quietness. No loud voices, no screams, nothing. Now it’s a serenity, bordering at isolation. Your Amazi feels as if they do not belong, as if they are cut off from their surroundings. Not able to understand anyone, the feel helpless, not able to interact verbally with their fellow Amazi or any other being. Will there be someone to show them a new voice to follow?

Allows your Amazi to participate in activities including events

Prompt: Show how your Amazi learns, or how they are taught, to overcome their disability, and find a new way of understanding spoken language. Do they learn how to read lips? Does someone teach them some kind of sign language?
